Looks like a good choice, as the weather could do anything.  I intend to come, but I may duck at the last minute if I feel rough.  Hope to see you at the Station at 1000hrs.

I’m grateful that someone is thinking ahead. Many thanks Andy.

I have accepted an invitation for NY day and I have agreed a hospital appointment on 8 Jan so that just leaves me looking forward to February ‘s run. Bother.

    Happy Xmas, Derek

That sounds good and I hope to be there.  However, don’t wait if I am late.

Should my tyres have changed shape following our highly pressurised philosophical discussion?

    Hi Andy,
I am not confident that I have recovered enough to do even the short run yet. Sorry about this, and hope to see you in October. Derek

Hi Andy.  After 8 weeks on board my sailing boat, I was looking forward to a good cycle ride.  However, I have acquired an infection in my left arm and I know that I could not manage 4 hours even on my e-velo.  Hope you have a good ride.

Hi Andy, I thought that I had replied to your message this morning, but my reply seems to have evaporated into the ether, and I must have pressed the wrong button (or something).
Very unfortunately I will have to give the ride on Tuesday a miss, and I guess you may not have heard the unusual reason before. At 10am I need to be on a good wifi connection and connected to Ticketmaster, because the tickets for the NFL (American football) games to be played at Wembley go for sale then. We lived in Jacksonville for 18 months many years ago, and my son and I have created a short-lived tradition to go to the Jaguars game in London. If you have to postpone because of weather etc, I am on for the following week.
    have a good ride, Derek

    Hi and Happy Easter,
I had been holding off until now to reply, because I had picked up a bug. Neither bug nor weather look good for tomorrow, so I shall pass. If you postpone the ride until next week, then I am ok for Tuesday 10th.

Sorry about the late notice, Derek

Hi Andy.  To my regret, I have carelessly committed myself to being at a sailing meeting tomorrow.. . . and just as the weather was turning better.  Still, I shall take the direct route to Portsmouth by bike and via the Hayling Ferry.

    Have a good ride.  Derek

Good decision with the forecast as it is.  I also have a slight bias – I was going to have a fairly tight deadline at the end of the ride.  Let’s hope for decent weather in a week’s time.

Would that be meeting up to get the 1030 ferry . . . . or do we intend to wait a little longer and cycle over on the ice.  Derek

Gil’s new partner sounds like an escapee from Star Trek.

Unless the conditions are bad,  I shall wallow up the mudpath known as the Billy Line – If anyone else is going that way, I’ll meet up at the station at 1000hrs.  If no one else, then I’ll just go past the station without stopping.

I would be happy with either alternative.  Thanks to Mike for offering to lead the ride on the 5th.

Andy, I hope you have a good ride and lunch.  Derek

If I am ready to go immediately after a successful session on the web, if the wind is in the right direction, if the gods are kind
then I might just get on the 10.40 train. I shall try.

My only previous experience of taking a bike on the train was to / from Brighton, and they would not let me on the first train because they had already hit their max of 2 bikes. Is this enforced on the Waterloo trains for such a short journey?
